Instructions
- Add the crushed tomatoes to a large mixing bowl.
- Finely grate or mince the fresh garlic directly into the tomatoes.
- Add the salt.
- Sprinkle in the Sicilian oregano.
- Pour in the olive oil.
- Mix gently until everything is fully incorporated.
- Allow the sauce to rest for at least 30 minutes before using. Overnight is even better.
- Store covered in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Notes
The biggest mistake I see people make is overcomplicating pizza sauce. Good tomatoes don't need sugar, onion powder, basil, parmesan, or dozens of spices.
